Gregory Dull was sworn into office as the Excelsior Springs Police Chief on January 3, 2022. Chief Dull comes to Excelsior Springs as a 31 year veteran of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. He spent 10 years working in specialized units including the tactical response team, moving up the ranks as a sergeant and two stints as captain.

Our Mission
To efficiently provide quality police service to our community by promoting a safe environment through a Police-Citizen partnership, with emphasis on mutual trust, integrity, fairness and professionalism. The Police Headquarters is located on the same campus adjacent to the City owned Hall of Waters. The community and the Police Department work very closely together and the City is recognized for its exceptionally low crime rate.
The Excelsior Springs Police Department is comprised of 35 full-time employees, including 24 full-time sworn police officers. This full-service law enforcement agency also provides emergency communications and animal control services, all supported by an annual operating budget of approximately $3.4 million. The Police Department maintains an agreement with the Excelsior Springs School District to provide three uniformed School Resource Officers (SROs).
